As I'm sure a lot of you have experienced the home page that comes with Jellyfin is a little lacking. It often shows only 1 or 2 shows in a section due to the episode limits, and only 16 movies. I like to change that number to something higher but it's getting a little tiresome to do it manually each time. How do you make these changes and keep jellyfin-web up to date? There is no config file for these numbers as far as I can find.

You’re not missing a config file — those homepage limits are hard-coded in jellyfin-web. The only way to change them is by editing the web client source (or the built files) and increasing the item limits there. The downside is that updates overwrite your changes.

    To keep things manageable, either:

    * Build and host your own custom jellyfin-web, or
    * Use a small patch/script to reapply your changes after each update.

Right now there’s no supported way to persist those homepage limits automatically.
