I can access jellyfinwebpage, but not connect to server

If I use my public domain to connect to jellyfin, I have access to a landing page, but need to select a jellyfin server, but I cannot connect to one.

I have a weird issue, after I updated jellyfin server on my raspberry pi.
I actually can access the website and the webserver is running. But the landing page is a "Select Server" page, on which I can select two different jellyfinservers. Both of which I cannot connect to. One is named correctly and should be the recent one, the other one seems to be an old server I deleted months ago.

If I select select server and use the address again, I get an instant "cannot connect".

I cleared cash and used different browsers (cache also deleted), pcs etc. It also is the same for the jellyfin apps. I cannot connect from outside my network. Only difference for the apps is, that I get the "cannot connect" for my domain.

It feels like, there are actually two servers running or some config error or someting, but I cannot figure out, what exactly is wrong. Also, I cannot find anything on the internet about this specific problem.

Anyone has an idea, what's going on?

Side information: After the last update, for some reason the webserver or nginx config (I am not sure) was not working, so I uninstalled jellyfin and reinstalled it and used the nginx example for ssl from jellyfin.org, after which it worked again within my local network. I also checked my network settings within jellyfin and it does seem to be correct. there is not much to configure, as I am using nginx...

Are you able to access jellyfin NOT through the nginx proxy?

Do you have caching enabled in nginx?

had the same problem here. it seems to have been something to do with "auto server discovery"

my jellyfin server is running on a seedbox as part of swizzin. i could hit it from firefox in windows, multiple ios apps, as well as roku tv app, but my ubuntu 22.04 with firefox kept defaulting to the "select server" page at

    https://server/user/jellyfin/web/#/selectserver.html

when i tried to go to the

    https://server/user/jellyfin

link that works on other devices

so i worked up the nuts to delete the server it was showing me and reloaded the

    https://server/user/jellyfin

page, where it prompted me for login and all was well

i think deleting the server wouldnt wipe all your media, its a local permission and without being logged in you dont really have the permissions to delete the server

Thank you for answering. I don't understand how I can delete one specific server in jellyfin. Could you maybe elaborate on that?

From your web browser http://localiphere:8096/web/#/selectserver.html click on the picture of the server and select delete, do this for both of them. This doesn't actually delete your server, just in case you are wondering.

Once you have deleted the servers on your browser then navigate back to http://localiphere:8096/
