I recently expanded my Jellyfin server with a more advanced search experience. Search now handles fuzzy matching better, including typos, missing accents, spacing differences, partial matches, separate episode results, year-based search, year ranges, and genre browsing grouped by year. When browsing by genre, the interface first shows the available years, then lists matching movies and series for the selected year. Actor and director pages also show a more complete available filmography/list.
I also added a simple normal / slow mode for manual library scans after new uploads. In slow mode, the priority is to protect active playback: library scanning runs more gently in the background so users watching movies are less likely to experience slowdowns, buffering, or interrupted playback.
The media organization workflow has been improved as well: unnecessary sample items are filtered out, movies are kept in a cleaner folder structure, and the custom theme, logo, Home icon, and settings can be restored after updates.
There is also a new RSS-assisted workflow connected to the Jellyfin library: daily torrent entries can be reviewed, checked with one button to see whether the content is already available, and if it is missing, it can continue into the upload workflow. Most of the movie library is available in HD quality, providing a consistent viewing experience across the collection. The library is mostly available in HD quality and currently includes approximately 11,200 HD movies, 315 HD series covering both newer and older releases, 454 TV show series, around 300 Christian movies, 696 animated and family-friendly cartoon/movie titles, plus 64 animated/kids series. The collection is intentionally curated without horror or adult content, with a focus on movies, series, family animation, Christian content, and general entertainment.
Server: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 8 cores / 16 threads, around 64 GB RAM, 4×22 TB HDD + 2×1 TB NVMe, with current SMART health reported as OK.
