    Items in collections all gone after 10.9.0 upgrade

    I just upgraded to server 10.9.0 and everything in my collections is gone.  The collections themselves are still there along with the last thumbnail assigned to them, but all empty.  This is very concerning to me as I've categorized thousands of movies into many different collections.  I am running Jellyfin server from Windows 10. Let me know what more info I can provide here.

    Edit: When I try to create a new collection and add a movie to it, the collection is created with no thumbnail assigned and is blank.

    Did permissions change or is a drive not mounted? It sounds like after the install it did a library scan and didn't find anything. Do you have a backup of your jellyfin data directory?

    I am as well facing same issue after V10.9.0 update( Win 11 x64) , all my collection are not grouped . When I try to add them to respective groups will get confirmation that it’s done how ever collection folder is empty

    Settings - libraries/Display/ Group movies into collections is checked

    I don't think it could be permissions, I just upgraded in place over the existing 10.8.13.   And the new version it seemed to play movies fine, but nothing shows in collections.

    I do have a backup and for now I downgraded back to 10.8.13.  I wish there was an easy way to create a test Jellyfin instance in Windows with my existing config data so I could have a parallel version to test while keeping my working version up.

    Can you try to find a minimal reproduction step of this? I cannot reproduce this on windows with minimal library setting + upgrade.

    I just did the update to 10.9 and all my collections seem to be working as normal. No missing media frim inside and everything plays as expected. Hope you are able to resolve your issue as I'd hate to have to try and rebuild my collections again. Was hopefully better options for adding media to collections was coming with this build.

    Setting up a fresh server i get "Unable to find linked item at path" errors and my collections are not showing the files. If i change the library to use network paths during setup instead it all works fine.

    You will need to restore from backup if you are already affected by this.

    Ok that's good to know.  Unfortunately between trying to upgrade again today to 10.9.0 to see if the behavior is the same and then downgrading back to 10.8.13 a second time, I seem to have completely fubar'd Jellyfin with a whole bunch of things now completely broken.  So I think I'm just gonna start a new portable 10.8.13 install, add all my libraries fresh and worry about collections later.  I have the collection XMLs all backed up so hopefully it won't come to manually adding everything to collections again.
