    Hello,

Only about half of the movies in a library folder are displayed in the Jellyfin library.

But missing movies can be found using the search function and can be played without problems.

After simply start and stop playing, the formerly missing movie appears correctly in the Jellyfin library.

I have not found any difference between displayed and non-displayed movies in the disk structure which could explain this, rescanning the library does not help, no errors in the log files mentioning the missing movies...

I'm running a fresh install of version 10.8.10 on Ubuntu Linux.

Thanks for any suggestion on how to diagnose / fix this.

Check your logs for anything that would indicate a problem. What kind of rescan are you running? "Replace all metadata"? If that doesn't help, I've found that removing content, scanning, putting the content back, scanning again worked.

    I tried your suggestion
    - put a movie A (displayed in library) and a movie B (not displayed but findable) in another folder
    - option "Scan all libraries"
    - both disappear as expected
    - add new folder with 2 movies to the library
    - movie A is now not displayed either, movie B remains not displayed
    - both are findable with the search function and playable

I do see an error in the log "Scan Media Library" Failed after...", same message as in https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/iss...1627042816, so it seems I've run into this.

Fix should be on the way
