I'm surprised this hasn't been updated since July 2024. Will this app someday be replaced by a single app that works on all devices instead of having an Android app for TV and another for touchscreens?

Each device is different and requires its own modifications for a Jellyfin client.
So each device will get its own app.

Fair enough, but it is curious how the official Android app is seldom updated.

That's due to the lack of time from the main dev and their desire to work on other parts of Jellyfin and the Android TV app.

Man, we get a new release and what do the devs get? Dissatisfaction!

I want niels focusing his talents on the AndroidTV app anyway! Thanks for giving the phone app a bit of love.

I figured the Android app wasn't getting updates since it's basically great. I don't find it particularly in NEED of anything, so it certainly makes sense to focus on other ones which could use more love.

Neils is doing amazing work, I'm infinitely grateful and have to remember to send some money his way to show it.

Can someone go flag 2.6.3-beta1 as prerelease? I use Obtainium to pull the app from the repo and it's offering this beta as a release version because of how it's tagged in the repo.

Beta versions are always marked as such in their tag, following the semver format

Which is all fine and good, but doesn't matter when using a tool that looks for latest release versions of applications, and the newest release is a beta. Not a big deal, mistakes happen, just mildly inconvenient lol.

That being said, the repo has 2.6.3-beta1 set as latest again, which is again incorrect. Mind fixing that again?
