Is there any support in those clients/OSes for something like an Xbox or PS4/5 controller?

I honestly don't know. I rather thought of a "Logitech Harmony Elite" as a remote control.

You could run an Intel NUC or older Intel-based Mac Mini. Fairly sure they made them recently enough they'd have QSV. The latter you'd probably have more power but also way more TDP and probably zero chance at repair. The logic boards for those things are still available but like $900 a pop. They're also fairly large and heavy. But they're almost bulletproof; my Mini ran for 12 years, 2 of them as a Jellyfin/docker server on 24/7. They're also silent and you can find really cool mounting solutions (I have a wall mount where my Mini just snaps in to this plastic holder, it's awesome).

Either way you'd ensure enough power that your client could decode.

Thanks for the homweis. As I said, the first thing is to find the right system (OS + ...). The hardware (computer) is then the smaller problem :-)

I'd just like to drop by and point out that you don't need to use Jellycon to make it work with Kodi. Jellyfin for Kodi integrates much better than Jellycon in my experience, and just uses the Jellyfin db as Kodi's db. "Native mode" is much better on my setup than "addon mode".

Yes, I know. I have already tested both add-ons.The "normal" Jellyfin add-on in Kode integrates the libraries almost as if the media were in Kodi. If you disregard once from small things like that when trying:

Running Track -> Options -> Add to Playlist

The Kodi own playlists are expected and not those of Jellyfin.

The real KO-criterion against this AddOn and for JellyCon is the hardware decoding in the server. I have a nVIDIA card in the server which performs the hardware decoding of the movies.

The "normal" AddOn can not do that :-(

I mean if you want open source and all-around solution, your options are limited. The two clients are Android and the Kodi plugins. Kodi is a different deal that I've tried many times over the years but haven't dealt with in depth since it transitioned from XBMC. I just don't see the draw.

The only other option I see, which is huge but probably not all that feasible, is to run a full-fledged PC and a browser in kiosk mode with a skin over Jellyfin, maybe even Vue if you can get that working. Nav might be a bit more complex than something meant for a TV, but webOS essentially runs this way and it's not bad at all. The only problem I see here is I've never found a browser on Linux that will run my video without tearing, ghosting, or other artifacts. If you're running high-quality video, browser-based might not be the best route. If you were open to Windows, JMP would be a great option.

I wanted to take a look at the Titan bingie mod skin and have set up a new system for this. LibreELEC 11.0.3 with Kodi v20.2. Downloaded the repository as a zip and installed.

This does not work. When trying to open the repo always appears the error that can not be connected to the repo. The info about this error of the developers are more than poor or do not lead to the goal. I should check the internet connection? Yes, of course. This is the first thing I do when I start Kodi. And if the Internet would not work, I could not install JellyCon.

I should check the URL for typos? That's why I don't type it by hand but use the ZIP to add the repo.

Well, wait and see if someone from the skin developers will take care of it.

May I ask how you installed it? I have several times now:

- reinstalled LiberELEC
- installed/set up JellyCon (only URL, user, password)
- Titan BINGIE MOD installed

After that I activate the skin and choose "Automatic" customization since I didn't set anything up. The wizard asks for the libraries but no Jellyfin libraries are offered here.

If I cancel the wizard, the result is always a blank screen and I can do absolutely nothing (navigation with arrow keys on the keyboard).

I mean, silly question.. but if you're using a Mini PC as a client hooked up to your TV, why not just use Jellyfin Media Player in TV Mode? Works well with a remote and has essentially the same interface as jellyfin web.
