For me, the most important feature that I want is the Genre section of the smart screen option. The Genre is not clickable and the sort is always alphabetical...

And also song themes of tv shows 🤤

Just had the skip intro button come up watching a show on my shield, amazing! Thanks for this update, this was one of the features I was hoping would come to the android TV app one day.

Niels is slow rolling the deployment of 0.18. Niels' last post stated he had increased the roll out to 50% of users.

Keep in mind that 0.18 is a pretty significant change. He is being conservative with the roll out to work out unexpected bugs before pushing it out to everyone.

Correct, the rollout of 0.18.z is now at 100% so everyone should be able to update now!

Thank you guys for bringing skips and trickplay... works very well. i actually prefer this trickplay implementation (with previous and upcoming frames) than single preview image.

Do I need the Intro Skipper Plugin for the media segments and the skip button to work? Currently the button briefly shows up and the intro is then skipped automatically, so it does work.
I'd still like to uninstall the plugin if it's no longer needed.

It is needed! It provides the actual segments information! The only other segment provider they have made so far is one that just reads metadata from your files if someone was kind enough to mark openings/endings/etc.

Only if your chapters are not named properly. If the chapter name is "intro" or "outro", no additional plugins are needed. If your chapter names are "chapter 1", "chapter 2", etc., you will need the intro skipper plugin.
