I'm sure it's just a matter of waiting, but the app on my Fire TV isn't updating. I even tried uninstalling then reinstalling it. Otherwise, very excited about this release!

Amazing! The media segments and trickplay features are massive additions! BUT the internal media player is so bad for playing movies, it crashes on all kinds of HDR/audio formats, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us enable external player for Movies only as an option. The internal player is excellent for TV shows, especially now, and I really want to use it.

It seems Jellyfin is heading in the right direction.
Only complain is that there is no way to stop playback if I fall asleep but I guess a plugin can fix that

Most TV's have a sleep timer.  As long as HDMI CEC is enabled on the TV, the Android TV app will stop playback when the TV shuts itself off.  I know this is not 100% ideal, but this is an option until this functionality is added to the ATV app.

Funny thing is that a lot people prefer that Jellyfin NOT stop automatically based on inactivity.

I have been checking every day since I saw this announcement but the client on my chromecast with android tv will just not update no matter what I do.

HI. Thank you very much for the hard work done, finally there are some interesting and useful additions.

Now I ask for one last effort.
Please improve library browsing. In 2024 (almost 2025) it is not possible to have to scroll through the library seeing hundreds of posters without information, without trailers on the front page, without plot... For those who have huge libraries of 5000 contents (films) and more like me, finding content to enjoy on the sofa is a trutly TRAUMATIC.  Also because jellyfin is poor in suggestions, it shows almost nothing, so it is necessary that the application allows us to more easily choose a content to enjoy.
