ok found the Log you need but it wont save for some reason (tried 4 times now) Get the below screenshot, is it perhaps linked to why the media player isn't working?

Everything looks fine in your playback settings. The only suggestion I have is to upgrade the server to 10.8.11. 10.7.7 is over 2 years old at this point.

    Backup C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin

That contains your database. We want to back it up since this is a big version jump.

You know what, I can't find anything on my pc that comes under C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin and if upgrading risks losing my own media library (which is huge and I've spend years manually editing to overcome any short comings with the way Jellyfin pulls metadata) I'm just not going to risk it. I've used it for years now with web browser and app on my ipad with no problems. I'm just going to accept for whatever inexplicable reason, the media player just cannot work on my system. Thank you for trying to help me anyway, it was appreciated!

If you recently started using JMP, its possible there is a minimum version requirement for JMP 1.9.1. I know with the latest Android app, it requires 10.8+.

Were you able to figure out how to fix the issue? I'm experiencing the same thing. I can browse all of my media on the Jellyfin media player Windows app, but the Jellyfin media player will not play anything (just goes to cover art and then nothing). I can play the videos on the Jellyfin web app using Google Chrome. I can also play the files with VLC. All other connected devices in the house are working properly as well.

Can you share your full Jellyfin log via pastebin? 90% certain the server is having trouble accessing the media files.

hi there, i am having the exact same problem on the windows app, seems to be ever since it updated.
i run jellyfin on a nas server, was working all ok on the app a few weeks ago. Also still works fine on the lg oled tv app and through google chrome web browser. The issue is exactly the same as JellyNoobs, you click on any video and it just shows the cover art. This is for all content on the server.
i have also uninstaled and reinstalled, clearing all jellyfin data in appdata and registry.

    log is below

You should also delete the device token in Jellyfin.

In a browser navigate to Dashboard > Devices. Delete the token for Jellyfin Media Player.

You said you deleted the "appdata" folder, there were two. "jellyfinmediaplayer" and "Jellyfin Media Player" in C:\Users\yourUser\appdata\local. Delete both. Open JMP and log back in. You don't need to touch the registry.
