I went through some pretty pain-staking effort to get jellyfin working at my church, on several roku devices.  It was all working great.  Now, any video that played last week (all videos actually) I only get a quick flash of an error "Error playing video" or something like that and it returns to the library.

    WHat I know:

    1. Network verified on the same subnet.
    2. Verified IP of server, and server re-selected in roku
    3. Rebooted server
    4. All devices affected.  None will play video
    5. Library appears to come up fine.
    6. Verified JF user settings, and it has library access to play videos.  I'm the only one with access, and it worked great on all devices last week.

    JF: 10.9.9
    Roku: 13.1.4 Bld 1501-E4

Log shows some auth errors.  Dont know why though.

I'm also having issues on TCL Roku TV. I've been watching a TV show the last couple weeks. Today when I tried to start the next episode it started flickering like it was looking for other episodes and would not play.

    @TheDreadPirate,

Thanks for that. I was going out of my mind on what changed, becuase I didnt change anything.

Not sure where the link is supposed to go, but it seems to be broken still.

    Thanks,
    Rod

The reference I see in that link is in regard to Roku 2.1.7. Is that what is to be released? A roku update? Or is this something I need to update on my jellyfin server?

    Thanks

Yes, the Roku app update will fix the playback issues. It is now live so make sure to check for updates if you are still having playback issues.

So, just so i'm sure what happened here. What changed that broke playback? It was working a week or two ago, but not yesterday. I had not updated anything either. I like to hang my hat on issue so I dont have a repeat problem.

Secondly, is there a way to hold off updates so I can find a stable setup, and leave it alone?

    Thanks.
