I have been running jellyfin on a Raspberry Pi 4 using Open Media Vault and Docker, primarily accessing the media library from the Xbox app. In the past week, the Jellyfin app does not seem to remember the server IP, so I jave to manually type the 192.168....... address in every time I open the jellyfin app on the xbox. This is obviously tedious and annoying, especially for other family members who do not have the IP memorised.
This is a new issue and has only started happening in the last week or so. I did not update Jellyfin or OMV or make any changes that I am aware of to my setup.
Any help on how to get the Xbox client to remember the IP would be appreciated

Are all these devices local? Did you make a change that would block port 7359 on the server? That is the service discovery port so that it auto populates on local devices.

The RPi and the Xbox are both networked via Ethernet cables to my home WiFi router, so yes, all local. I have not changed any settings, this issue seems to have been spontaneous.
This issue is not happening on my laptop or PC so it seems to potentially be an issue with the Xbox app?

Does the Xbox have a way to "reset" an app?

Yes, Same issue with my Xbox One.

I think it's related to an update...

My other Xbox (Series) is not even able to reach the server anymore.

Update of the Xbox? Or Jellyfin? Stable jellyfin hasn't been updated since late last year. Only unstable has been updated recently.

AFAIK the Jellyfin UWP app, which is what Xbox uses, hasn't been updated in years. The dev that wrote it is no longer with the project IIRC.

I thought of an update of the Xbox app but reading what you wrote, I think now this is an Xbox OS update. Anyway, for a few days/weeks the xbox users of the app have noticed changes (non persistent server adress / domain, "server unreachable") and I can add to that the dashboard of the jellyfin admin shows now "edge chromium" when a xbox client is connected, whereas it shown "Xbox One" before. It was limited to FHD and 12.5Mpbs, and those limitations do not exist anymore on the xbox app but still remains on a Xbox browser.

Hope it can help. Cheers !
