Jellyfin is installed on my Mac laptop. I usually connect to it from TV or iPad and when I am home everything works OK. When I am connected to Internet local access works also OK (using http://localhost:8096). However, when I am offline, local access is not working. When I connect to http://localhost:8096 I can access to Jellyfin server itself, but it never loads library, I just have circle notification that looks like it tries to load it. Any idea what is stopping it running when offline ?

Can you describe what "offline" means in your use case? And how and what devices are you using to connect to your Jellyfin server?

If I'm guessing right, you're closing your Mac laptop and putting it to sleep. Or you're connecting the laptop with wifi, but turning on airplane mode or something like that.

Offline is when laptop is not connected to Internet. It is same if wifi is off or on but without working Internet connection. I want to use local Jellyfin through browser, since it keeps not of what I watched.

Are you using the same Mac laptop to watch Jellyfin?

Also, can you explain how you know when the internet is not working?

Yes, I use same Mac laptop to watch Jellyfin, it runs Jellyfin server (10.9.3 version).

I know that Internet is not working because I see that wifi is not connected.

That's your problem. Wifi is not internet. Wifi is a wireless connection system. It connects devices to a router. You need to either have wifi turned on, or connect the laptop to the router with an ethernet cable.

I am trying to connect to LOCAL instance. Both server and client (in my case web browser) are running on SAME laptop. I am trying to access using localhost connection, http://localhost:8096. There is no wifi or ethernet cable in between.

    On the same laptop:
    1. Are the media drives directly connected?
    2. Any plugins that require internet access?
    3. Any custom CSS that pulls from an online source?

All media is on internal drive, so they are connected fine and everything works normal when I connect back to Internet.
There is nothing custom, CSS nor anything else, Jellyfin is vanilla installation downloaded from official site.

Regarding plugins, I disabled all that do have disable option. Ones that are still running came with Jellyfin and I do not see option to disable or uninstall them (AudioDB, MusicBrainz, OMDb, Studio Images, TMDb).

I can see following in log:

2024-07-11 14:38:57.523 +02:00] [ERR] [7] Emby.Server.Implementations.Updates.InstallationManager: An error occurred while accessing the plugin manifest: "https://repo.jellyfin.org/files/plugin/manifest.json"
    System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: Network is unreachable (repo.jellyfin.org:443)

But I am not sure what exactly that means and if that is cause of the problems.

The error states the plugin manifest can't reach/connect to the internet.
