Jellyfin Play on wifi connected GoogleTV fails.

I recently installed Jellyfin media server to stream music to several rooms in our house. The clients are late model Google TV + Chromecast units. WI-Fi is mesh with excellent connectivity throughout.

When I installed Jellyfin Player on the Google TVs the connection was over wi-fi. This seemed to go OK  New accounts were confirmed by the server as established. 

However, when I went to start the Jellyfin player on a wifi connected Google TV  the application opened briefly and then closed down. 

Further trial and error testing revealed  that when the Google TV units were connected by ethernet cable to the LAN the Jellyfin player loaded OK and worked.

Is there something I should be aware of when attempting to use the Jellyfin player over a wifi Google TV unit?

NB: The app on my  Android phone works fine on a connection to the same local WIFI network.

WIFI or ethernet shouldn't matter. All 3 of my Google TV devices (2x CCwGTV 4k and 1x Google TV Streamer) are connected via WIFI.

Clear the app cache and try again.
