Fair enough, and noted for the future. Although I did ask for troubleshooting tips, my intention was more for discussion with others testing RC2. As it turns out I suspect this is entirely my own fault and probably not an issue with the release at all. I ignored this advice:

(2026-06-28, 06:05 PM)theguymadmax Wrote: Note: If you install the RC, you should **disable all plugins** and reinstall using [the unstable plugin repository](https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server...positories), or plugins may fail to load and cause unintended side effects.

And I believe that the TMDb Box Sets plugin was causing the server to crash.  The logs showed a MissingMethodException when that plugin was triggered causing the server to restart regularly, meaning that the server never ran long enough for some tasks to trigger. I have now disabled it and am waiting for sufficient time to pass to see if all those tasks now run as scheduled.

I post this as a cautionary tale. Don't be a Graeme. Follow the advice provided by the folks who know what they are talking about.

Is there a RC2 for Synology NAS, would love to be a tester for it?

Your best bet is Docker container. I have been using it for years with Synology NAS without any issues.

With SkiaSharp Version 4.150.0 just released as the new stable version, will JF 12 be incorporating it, or staying on 3.119.4? or 3.119.3?

Just finished my testing, and it's been fantastic. The query performance improvements are night and day (0.5s vs 500s load times, and I rounded the latter down), so special thank you to everybody involved in that troubleshooting. Can't wait till these changes go live.

I have installed the RC2 for testing, especially to check for the slow sync with larger music libraries. My server is Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, using Docker, and I have a library of 55K tracks, and actually using Symphonium in remote connection I got the first sync in 54 minutes, and in local in 38 minutes.
The library scan from the Jellyfin web interface tooks 30 min.
I guess it's still very slow, but it's better than previous 10.x.x.x releases and I wonder if other users could see much better result, so perhaps it could be something to check on my side, or this issue still need some improvement. In general I see better reaction on the menu' changes and loading. Thanks for the work to the team!

I was about to ask about this myself Smiling-face
New install of 12.0-RC2, not as huge collection as you, only 8080 tracks over 406 albums but the first sync is very slow.

Do you have the "Enable LUFS scan" on? Its on by default

    @svein39

Thanks! The LUFS for the audio normalisation was ON and I have actually disabled. Also today I have updated to RC3.
So in theory the sync should be improved from v12, and I'm just testing some db optimisation and let's see how it goes.
Of course if somebody in similar library size may confirm would be very useful.

Curious and apologies if this has been answered recently, with v12 has the issue in collections were random lirabry entries are added but never show up based on the filename and path been resolved? It cropped up again for me on a new item, adde to multiple collections, even created a brand new collection to test and the entry never showsu p. It showsi nthe created/edited XML file but never in the actual display. I have to change the filename (adding random extra spaces) in order for JF to see this as a totally new entry and then it might show up in collections once added. Which screws with my organizational brain. Not that much of this matters anymore.
    JF Wish List:
    RT, MC, IMDb etc Scores
    IMDb Top250 metadata
    Read Music Album Sort
Soundtrack link to movie by title/sort/Manual
Media info shows added to Collections
    Collections WL:
    Content Rules - Library-Title/Sorttitle/Tag/Director/Filename/Contains
    Organized by Library
    Scanned to Editable XML
