are there any news on when we get the official App for Samsung Tizen TV's?
I think they sayed its comming soon over a year ago already

If I remember correctly from discussions, there have been some legal issues with how Samsung requirements on their apps which we were not be able to resolve to this date.

So its unclear if we will ever get an official app for that?

I used to install the app on my SamsungTV via a tutorial on reddit, but this app never updates itself and I can't find any offical thread where I can see when I need to start all over again to receive a new version of my Tizen App.

Maybe. I cannot say, all _i_ know/can say is that the will is definitely there but there are reasons outside our hands that prevent us from doing it any other way currently.

Is there any way to get at least informed when there is a new version available for building over docker?
I can't find a way to see if my used version is outdated or not?

Jellyfin does not provide that information, that is correct however you could watch the github repro where new versions are announced when they come out. It then takes usually a few hours to build the containers. On the other hand there is a project that mostly wraps all that stuff for tizen into a container itself and there are plenty tools out there to watch for docker updates like watchdog. I figure with a bit of ingenuity you could maybe automate most of that stuff away.
