I am moving from Plex to Jellyfin and the only issue keeping me from shutting down Plex for good is that Jellyfin won't play HDR files as HDR; my TV indicates when it goes into HDR mode and while this works when I play the file with Plex, it does not for Jellyfin. I've searched for a solution but can't find one. Am I missing a setting that will address the issue?

Both Jellyfin and Plex are running on the same server, a Windows 11 machine with an i9-13900H and 32GB RAM. The Jellyfin server version is 10.11.6. This happens on two different TVs, both using Roku.

The file info is below. Again, if I play this with Plex, the HDR icon pops up on the TV and the video looks great. If I play it with Jellyfin, the HDR icon does not appear and the video looks washed out. Any advice is appreciated.

Sounds like the file is an MKV container. Roku support for dolby vision using MKV is inconsistent and not great. Either convert to mp4 or force a remux to preserve dovi.

JellyRock has a user setting, Preserve DoVi, that will automatically remux dovi files in mlv container to mp4. That should fix your problem.
