Could you please explain how you have Jellyfin installed?

And where are the files located in relation to the machine Jellyfin is installed on?

Sounds like a permissions issue. Make sure that the Jellyfin user can access the actual content in the mounted folders.
It looks like only the folders are accessible, but the content inside of them are not.

Open your Jellyfin container's settings and see what user ID you used.
If you kept the default for user and group (568 ), that's the "apps" user.

So make sure that you add the "apps" user to have access to the media files that you want.

yes the id is (568 )

i do not have a "apps" user registerd under my credentials settings in truenas scale there are currently 3 users (smbuser, admin, root)

    i might not understand

apps is a built-in user. You need to go to your datasets and use the GUI to add "apps" to the permissions of the necessary datasets.
