    Hey there!

So After I have been having really bad performance issues with loading content on my Jellyfin Server, I decided to try 12.0-rc3.

Issues seem to be resolved, everything loads super fast which is wonderful. However, I am getting another issue now that I don't know if this is a bug or intentional.

When using the options in Dashboard->Libraries->Display called "Group movies into collections" and "Group shows into collections" they work but they work extremely slow, it takes really long time to start displaying the movies I have grouped into a collection as part of that collections instead of individual entries.

What I am talking about is that I use folder view. I go into a folder and group the movies in that folder into a collection. Afterwards after refreshing the page, the movies still show as individual entries in the folder instead of as one entry (as the collection they are in) but if I go back to home and click on the collections tab and go into that collection, the movies are in it. But inside the folder it takes very long time for the movies to show as one entry, as the collection inside that folder where I grouped them. I am doing this to help myself keep track of proper organization of collections and to see if there are missing movies or wrongly identified before inserting them into a collection. And this behavior inside the folder makes it very time consuming and frustrating to me.

Any help about this is appreciated or if this is a bug, I hope it could be addressed in the next update

Ok, I'm trying to understand the issue better. You're not saying that browsing the library is slow. You're saying that when you manually group individual movies into collections, the main movie page doesn't reflect your changes right away (you have "Group movies into collections" enabled, so collections will be displayed as a collection and not individual movies in the movie library).

It eventually will, but not immediately after you group items; they still show as individual movies in the UI, not as a collection as you would expect.

12.0 introduced heavy caching on the web client. We try to clear the cache whenever there is a change in the UI, but there are bound to be scenarios that we haven't accounted for. The cache should refresh after 60sec or if you log out and log back in.

Did I understand your issue correctly?  Also, it would help if you could take a quick video demonstrating the issue.

    Thanks

    Hey!

What I am trying to say is that I have movies arranged by folders, each folder is different genre or franchise. I do that to be able to easily keep track of which movie is in what collection. When I use the folder view, browsing the folder structure through the web interface, what happened before was that when I go to a folder for example of the genre drama, I see inside, through the web interface, 1 item for the collection "drama movies" and other items for each separate movie that is not inside the collection "drama movies". What happens now on version 12.0 is that regardless if the movies are added to the collection, they still appear as items inside the folder drama, and before version 12.0, every item that represents a movie was not showing inside the folder if it was inside the collection.

For example, the Marvel folder when I browse to it through the web interface shows this:

While the folder for Lord of the Rings folder shows this:

The first pic shows how the movies in the folder Marvel are not shown inside the folder because they have been added to the collection Marvel.
However, the movies inside Lord of the Rings folder are still shown inside the folder even though they have been added to the collection as seen on the top right number on the collection item.

I hope I have managed to explain my problem better, sorry for the confusion

What library type is this, and can you give an example of the folder structure?
