Whenever I goto live tv on the LG app for jellyfin and attempt to go down through the cursor keeps moving but the guide stays put so I have to hit page down and when I do that I can see the cursor again but when I hit down to go to another channel the view resets and the cursor is still down there.

I have no idea so i ran your question through Chat GPT and here what it gave me. hope it helps.

That sounds like a focus/scroll bug in the Jellyfin LG webOS app, not a problem with your server or TV signal. What’s happening is:

    The selection cursor is moving

But the guide UI isn’t auto-scrolling with it

When you press Page Down, the view jumps

Then pressing Down again causes the view to snap back to the top while the focus stays lower

This is a known behavior in some versions of the LG webOS Jellyfin client, especially in the Live TV grid.

    Quick Things to Try
1️⃣ Restart the LG App Completely

Don’t just exit — fully close it:

    Hold the Home button

Close the Jellyfin app from the recent apps row

    Reopen it

2️⃣ Reboot the TV (Power Cycle Properly)

LG TVs don’t fully reboot when turned off.

    Unplug the TV from power

    Wait 60 seconds

    Plug back in

This clears webOS app cache issues.

3️⃣ Check Jellyfin Server + App Version

This bug has been fixed in some newer builds.

    Check:

    Jellyfin server version

LG app version (in app settings → About)

    If you’re running:

    An older server (pre-10.9.x)

Or an older LG app build

    Updating may fix it.

If you tell me your server version, I can confirm.

    If It’s Still Happening

    This is often caused by:

The guide not properly syncing scroll state

Or LG’s webOS focus engine misbehaving with dynamic grid rendering

    Workarounds

✔ Use Channel List view instead of full grid (if available)
✔ Use a smaller guide time window
✔ Use Jellyfin via external device (Fire TV / Shield) if Live TV is important

The Android TV client handles the guide much better.

    Advanced Option (If You're Self-Hosting)

    If you're comfortable:

Disable “virtual scrolling” in the web client config (if exposed)

Clear Jellyfin app data (delete + reinstall the LG app)

Reinstalling the LG app often fixes UI focus bugs.

    Most Likely Cause

    If this started recently:

It’s very likely a recent LG app update regression

    If it’s always done this:

It’s a webOS rendering limitation with the Live TV grid

    If you tell me:

    Your Jellyfin server version

Your LG TV model (webOS version)

Whether this happens only in Live TV

I can narrow it down further and give you a more precise fix
