So yesterday I tried to play a movie on my LG TV through the new WebOS app, streamed from the Jellyfin server on my Windows 11 desktop PC.

This was a 1920x1040 H264 / AC3 encoded movie which had to be transcoded, but my PC should be able to handle that easily (7800X3D with 32GB DDR5). And it did as the movie played fine on every device besides my TV.

On starting the stream in the Jellyfin WebOS app the movie would hang for a good while as if it was buffering, like 4 or 5 minutes, then suddenly start to play like there was no problem. Then hang again, apparently buffering again (although there was no indication that it was). This would go on for seemingly random times. Sometimes the movie would play uninterrupted for 30 minutes or so, then hang and play for a couple seconds, then play for a few minutes, hanging for uncomfortable amounts of time in between.

I've included the ProgramData logs with this post, but I'm struggling to find a cause. Since the movie would play just fine on other devices, could it be the WebOS app? I have an LG OLED65GX6LA from 2020 which already seems to struggle through the WebOS menus (but can play streams from apps just fine), but it did play for longer periods without any problems.

Thanks in advance for the help

Can you update your server to 10.9.3? Always make a backup first. There have been A LOT of bug fixes in .2 and .3 that possibly solve this issue.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage
4x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1
