I'm very new to this (JF and Linux) but had some basic success running JF on an old laptop running Ubuntu and viewing the movies/shows on a Roku on my home network.  Media is stored on a USB external hard drive.  I was ripping media on a faster windows desktop and didn't realize it would cause issues swapping my external HD back and forth.  Ever since I swapped the drive back to the desktop (to load more movies), I haven't been able to get my JF laptop to find the media when I scan libraries.  I decided that using exFAT file system was causing me problems with assigning ownership and permission so I reformatted the drive as ext4.  So I've been able to take ownership of the drive and assign ownership and "group" to jellyfin with "access" listed as "create and delete."  The drive is mounted at: "/media/my-name/1c3a52e3-0ac9-f34e-9268-2e3e6fedf9f2".  I also use generic library addresses such as "/media/my-name/movies" or "/media/my-name/shows".  However when I scan libraries, nothing shows up (I have movies, music and shows).
I recognize that in the past I was having issues with ownership and permissions of the drive, but since switching to ext4, I feel that I am more easily able to assign ownership and permissions - yet still struggle to get JF to find me movies and shows.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?  Pretty please, try to spell it out for the layman since I am very new to this.  Thank you very much.
