    Jellyfin: 10.10.1
    OS: Ubuntu

Most of my users are utilizing my Jellyfin setup through their TV sets. I have recently turned on the live TV function within Jellyfin and if the end user has a Roku TV every channel plays correctly but if they have for example a LG TV certain channels will cause the TV to lockup and then reboot. I also noticed that the same lockup issue takes place when using Jellyfin through Kodi but this is not really an issue I am worried about fixing but figured I throw it out there as well for reference.

I assume that the playback issue is with the LG app on the TV but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions as to if there is a fix for this problem out there? I am not utilizing any IPTV plug-ins at this time and just simply using what Jellyfin provides natively. Again since the Roku TVs do not have an issue I assume that this is an LG app issue.

Can you share your jellyfin server logs via pastebin? So we can rule out a server side issue and get clues for client side behaviors.

Thanks for getting back to me. It will take some coordination on my part to get you those logs since I do not have a LG TV in my house. I will have to coordinate with one of my users to have them test so that I can get the logs right after they test.

    Hi,
im having a similar problem, the webos app or browser for that matter just loads the channel infinitely while the server side dont report any issues.

    livestream log from jellyfin.log - https://pastebin.com/KV3WdaCi

    photo of tv - https://prnt.sc/n8Nv44ZlTsE2

also on my friend's LG TV he said that it did crash the device.

I am pretty sure that the issue is related to the application written for the LG TVs. Unfortunately, I have not had time to confirm this with the requested logs since I have to corrdinate with someone else to have them test since I do not own a LG TV.

You can try setting all live TV streams to be proxied through the server and see if that makes a difference.

Dashboard > Users > select a user > check "Force transcoding of remote media sources such as Live TV"
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE

ok did some tests on an old LG TV I got (2016-17 model) with webOS 3 or 4 I think and it worked on the released jellyfin app, on latest models with the new LG hub it seems to just get stuck in loading or even crashes.

also tried this on a 2023 model and not only it didnt work on the LG it made watching through my PC not work too (on opera and on the windows jellyfin media player app).
same logs as before, stream opening with no errors and no transcode logs generated on server and getting a playback error on client side.
