Hi I'm planning on building a server to run Jellyfin and Homeassistant on and I'm looking for advice on what to look for with parts for a somewhat specialized computer
Right now I'm running off of a Synology DS923+, which is fine for a single 1080p stream for one person, as NAS doesn't have integrated graphics, I'm planning on just having that separate server access the NAS for the media.
Anyways theres a few requirements that I need but I'm not sure how good the parts need to be
Ideally I'd like to be able to have 5 streams going on at once, so I'm sure I'd need a gigabit PCIEcard, and the CPU would probably also have to be decent as on top of that I'd also want to be running home assistant and maybe down the line some other stuff. But I'm honestly not sure what I'd need for a graphics card, or even if an integrated GPU would be able to support several 4k streams(which I honestly have no clue if it can do it easily or if I'm stupid to even suggest it).
A problem is due to how the networking is in my house the spot where the server will go is in a room next to a bedroom, so requirement is that the server should be really quiet which might be tough with a graphics card. Another challenge for this is power consumption, not because of power itself but because of waste heat going into the area, I live somewhere where it gets very hot in the summer so I don't want too good of a graphics card.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, or even better if someone suggested a build.
Thank you!
