Currently, my setup only has 4TBs; I'm planning on getting another drive soon and boosting that up to 8TBs, though. In the future, I plan on just building my own server with storage up to about 20–30TBs. But for right now, I have about 4–5 TV shows, each of which is 1080p. Some shows are long-runners, so they’ve gotten up to 200GBs for one show. My current drive is filling up fast; it’s only 4TBs and it’s already at 1.5TBs used. My question to you is, what are your recommendations for saving space before I buy a new drive? I want to make the most of my 4TBs while, at the same time, keeping everything at 1080p. I don't want to re-encode anything, but I will remux things, etc. For example, with Dragon Ball Z, I had a script that removed the Japanese audio tracks and selected the one English surround track I wanted, which significantly cut down the amount of space it consumed. I also plan on doing that with everything I currently have on my setup. Most everything except Dragon Ball Z is 1080p; anything broadcast in 480p is still 480p. In any case, I need some opinions here. Much appreciated for all the help I’ve received from you all over the time I’ve been here.
