    Media Player Issue

    Can only connect to the server in browser, media player does not connect

    Nginx, on its own, is just a http server. It would require port forwarding.

    Unfortunately, it's hard to troubleshoot this issue since you don't have control of a lot of factors nor do I know the way your university's network nor what Localtonet is doing. Looking at their page it looks like they act as a reverse proxy. Jellyfin Media Player is sensitive to certain XSS and CSP settings that are out of your control.

    IMO, the more sensible solution for your situation would be something like Tailscale.
