Hi devs, thanks for all you done Smiling-face

I have a request, when I replace my medias (720p->1080p or other), Jellyfin consider new files so Jellyfin reset view statement.

Is there a possibility to replace files but no consider these as new files and keep statement as already play or not ?

Thanks again for this amazing work on Jellyfin, love it Smiling-face

I've not experiened this issue when changing the format of a certain media entry but my suggestion, which also helps to eliminate this issue, is to use a 3rd party media tracker. Trakt works well for tracking but their website designers have gone anti-user lately so it's been a real pain to do anything on their site. SIMKL is another. If you ultimately just wantt a consistent database to track your watched status both will work and have Jellyfin plugins as well work with various clients. You can link other media services to them as well (Netflix, Disney+, Prime etc).

I currently use both and my watches never get reset. They will even import your current watched status directly from JF so you don't have to manuaally add them to their database lists. And it works for multiple users on your server for both joint status and individual tracking. Just make sure you understand how to set-updifferent users to their own accounts. It's not difficult but you don't want to accidentially link your uncle who watches a lot of blue movies with your niece who is 6 and likes to see all the times she watched Bluey....
    JF Wish List:
    IMDb Top250 metadata
    Read Music Album Sort
Soundtrack link to movie by title/sort/Manual
Media info shows added to Collections
    Collections WL:
    Content Rules - Library-Title/Sorttitle/Tag/Director/Filename/Contains
    Organized by Library
    Scanned to Editable XML

I just happened to be reading today that Trakt had some issues including a big data leak a couple years back which they never did anything about apparently, though I didn't do much research to confirm. I was doing some research to find an alternative and have just installed SIMLK plugin nd transferred my watch history. Hopefully it works well. I didn't love the trakt UI on their website but thus far it seems more intuitive thank SIMKL, but I will give it a try and see if I get used to it!!
