    Hello there,

I have reccurent issue with Jellyfin that some files are not seen by jellyfin. The permissions are correct, library access is enabled, etc...
In this particular case, it occurs on videos downloaded by my girl on youtube. Those videos are in mp4 formats and are generally music shows. They have broken names such as:

    20210310_164413.mp4

I have tried to use different media type for the library containing those files but that doesn't help whatsoever.

I know Jellyfin is expecting a clear naming convention to work properly, so that's probably why the files are not shown, however it'll be difficult in my case to change all the filenames to something which may eventually be recognized by JF.

Is there any workaround to this situation  ? And in general, is there a way to force JF to simply show a library content without trying to detect the type & metadata of the files ? Just a simple listing view.

    Thanks for your help !

Got to your library settings --> Display
Check "Display a folder view to show plain media folders"
That should create a pseudo library called "Folders" which contains a plain listing view.

But if jf does completely not display some files I think your folder structure might be an issue.

Can you explain your structure to be sure?

    Hi !

That option is already ticked on, and the folder view has the same issue. The folder structure is very basic; it's just one folder with all files inside. And the files have the following names:

    20210310_164413.mp4
    Ommeuh_yoga_EP2.mp4
    20210310_172036.mp4
    Ommeuh_yoga_EP3.mp4
    20210310_172155.mp4
    Ommeuh_yoga_EP4.mp4
    20210310_172742.mp4
    Ommeuh_yoga_EP5.mp4
    20210310_173452.mp4
Un Tour de France en Chansons.mp4
    Ommeuh_yoga_EP1.mp4

    Permissions are OK.

I really don't get why we can't just list the content of a folder.

    Thanks !

Have you used the Music Videos library type? It does not retrieve online metadata and should just show the library contents as is. No file naming conventions either.

Thanks for your answer. That's good to know that this library type should do the trick. However it only partially works. Some folders have their files listed properly, while others folders remains empty from JF point of view. And again, I double-checked all permissions. Everything is fine on that side.

Can you share some example file names and folder names for content that isn't being added? Can you share your logs via pastebin?
