My directory is /home/paulie/Jellyfin Server Media/Music My (5) music files all have the “.mp3” ending. When I try to open it in Roku, the directory shows empty. I have another directory named Movies next to it with some mp4 files. These show up and can be played OK. Anything I’m doing wrong? Need some help as a new JF user. Thanks!

There is a structure that is suppose to be followed. https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/music/

That being said, Music is a bit more tricky than other media. Do you use "MusicBrainz Picard", beets, or any other tools to get your musics internal metadata? Because music unlike movies, TV shows, and the likes tend to have internal metadata that applications even other than Jellyfin that pull from first. Sometimes the applications get lucky and find it other times they don't. Any media player that is "Metadata heavy" tends to fallback on MusicBrainz, Discogs, or TheAudioDB so you might want to run your music through a MetaData fetcher. I personally suggest Picard, as it has a GUI and let's you manually select things, and then save them to the files manually.

Well, two files show now with (Jellyfin) added information about the choices. This is what must have taken the time. I would rather have all my music selections show without any added fluff. Is there a way to keep that simpler display?

Let me make sure I am not misunderstanding anything here. Does the music file show up at all in Jellyfin like on the web view? (http:server-ip:8096) If not then it's probably metadata issues and maybe file structure issues. If this is only Roku then it might be a Roku specific issue with the application. Are you using the official Roku Jellyfin app or like a third-party application?
