    Hello all

    For the nth time i will be rebuilding my music playlists.

    In this latest iteration i would like start by rebuilding my longest playlist. Driving Car, Driving Bike, BBQ and the likes

    Since Jellyfin insists of attributing a user id to each playlist importing or building such a playlists from an other Jellyfin installation or building them from scratch  is painful.

    I would have 2 questions;

    1) as i add songs from albums to a playlist, I do not want to have all the songs from an album or from an artist, i would like to sort these tracs to make the playlist less boring.
    I would would be happy with a generic sort.

    I know that i can sort at the time i  play the playlist. I would be happy to save this sort to a new name

    2) i understand the case for adding a uid to the playlist. However security should be possibly installed/ activated by the user not by the machine. I should be able to to port a playlist from server to the next if one has multiple (or as in my case has to rebuild jellyfin server several time on the same hardware

    Can this be solved?

    Thank you for your contribution

    I still say to use less internet and use more cabernet (responsibly (only if driving))
    be well now

    If, for whatever reason, you are no longer able to modify a playlist, instead of manually recreating it you can simply make a new one and copy everything within the "playlistitems" tag from the original playlist then "scan all libraries" in the dashboard. It will update the playlist with the original items and it is now owned by you.

    @TheDreadPirate

    Thank you for this insight.

    However when i create a playlist at the naming stage i DO set the access to all by ticking the box.

    A this point the playlist should have UID od 000000000000. When set in this way the playlist could be saved on a NAS and be imported and or shared with other Jellyfin servers (even with a friend)

    On my other question I saw that is one opens a playlist and start playing it, then i go and opens the item playing, a new list appears and shows the tracks to be played, at the top right-hand corner there is an image of a diskette to save this sorted playlist.

    I then save it with a different name (then if i want i could change the name to the old playlist (once i deleted it).

    Thank you... Be well and good luck tomorrow

    That's a neat little trick.  I'll have to remember that one.
