For weeks I tried to get Comchap/Comcut to work with Comskip to remove commercials from DVR'd episodes.  I kept running into bugs and road blocks. Finally I decided to do something about it.  I created my own commercial removal program (still relies underneath on Comskip) called ComGone ("Commercial Gone"). Its has many features lacking in Comchap including support for mkv, mp4, and m4v containers.  It's under active development compared to the older tools.

If you're interested check it out.  Pre-built docker images are here: https://hub.docker.com/r/lakestonelabs/comgone and source code can be found here: https://codeberg.org/lakestonelabs/comgone

    I welcome your feedback. Cheers!
