    Possible reasons:
    1. Your Jellyfin installation file is incomplete; missing CSS files. Not sure what might be happening with your docker installation.
2  Somehow, access to the /web/main.jellyfin.....css is blocked for the application
    3. Some add-on or custom theme/styles are knocking out that CSS file(s)

I install on my Mac from the ARM .dmg file, so everything gets installed as packaged. Maybe someone using docker could add more information to help.

Thanks for your reply! You totally helped me figure out what was wrong. The index.html file was mounted on the host and wasn't updating. I unmounted the jellyfin-web dir and now it's all good. Now why it was mounted? Totally forgot what I was doing. Should've documented this...
    Cheers

Getting notifications from apps stating the server must be updated from 10.10.7 to at least 10.11.0 before the next update in order to not lose functionality yet hwen I read these release threads I see many, many issues introduced since 10.11.0. I appreciate the work to advance JF forward but from my outside view it looks like this release is still problematic enough to not be implemented by general users at this point. Hoping there are more bug fixes and simplistic improvments moving forwards.

I was thinking the same thing as you because I've been watching these threads since 10.11 came out, but the warnings to update the server from the Jellyfin Android TV app got me to finally pull the trigger. Honestly the update was super quick for me and I've had no real issues yet. It removed some plugins, so take inventory of what you're using before updating.
I think at this point a lot of the issues people are having are with deprecated features, like mixed content libraries. Do a backup, as the instructions say, then try out the update and in the worst case you just restore your backup.

Give this one a go again. Still not as robust as 10.10.7 but it’s actually running compared to 10.11.2 which I last tried. The full library scan was on 66% for over 17 hours before I gave up. I removed one library which contains 600k of mixed photos and videos and it’s currently 90% through a full scan which is better. I’ll try and add the other library back over the next few weeks one subfolder at a time and keep my fingers crossed

I wish it was as simple as just reloaidng the backup but I've found more than enough times Jf to be a complete PITA to get going until it just finally does. and more times than not I just have to do a complete new JF instal, re-create all users, re-scan my entire library (7k movies 600 tv shows 20k albums and more).  I will look into it over the weekend. Ultimately I'm hoping (but not expecting) improvments to the handling of collections but I've seen many complaints about library speed and I'm already seeing that as slow and sluggish.

This isn't intended to discount anyone else's experience... but I was in the same boat, thinking I'd defer the upgrade to 10.11.x for as long as possible... but I bit the bullet and decided to do it a couple days ago.

It went pretty smooth for me. I have about 700+ movies and who knows how many TV show episodes. The database updated in a reasonably quick fashion. The only "issue" I ran into is that the Kodi sync plugin had to be updated to version 15.0.0.0 for Kodi sync to work properly. It automatically updated, but the server had to be restarted (the plugin state was "Restart") a second time, post-10.11 upgrade, for sync to happen.

I use the official docker version, inside an Ubuntu instance (w/two i5 CPUs and 8GB of ram) under Proxmox.

As long as you make a backup, which is super easy if you're using docker, then there's no real harm in trying the upgrade. It might be worth a shot for you.

This is a much more solid release if you only use “shows” and “movies” and feels more like 10.11 should’ve been from the start.
Still if you need to use “home videos and photos” then it’s not ready yet. I hope another update soon will fix this (or at least make it usable with a large library).

The speed of the Home Screen and shows / movies is much smoother - but without home movies it’s a deal breaker and may need to go back to 10.10.7 again until there’s more improvement.

Thanks for all the effort so far

I use Home Videos and Photos for 5 of my libraries plus Music for 2 and Music Videos for one.

How are you finding that and how much content do you have? I found the HV&P was ok with a very small amount of content - but even with that tiny amount was slower than 10.7 with ALL of it. When I added a little more (I’m talking maybe 0.5% of what I had in it for 10.7) navigating it hangs. Six minutes trying one subfolder and I gave up waiting.

Unfortunately, the current Jellyfin 10.11.* is currently a step backwards in terms of performance. Jellyfin is extremely slow. When building the page, searching, loading images, etc. No comparison to the last 10.10.* version. Quite disappointing.

I have no idea what the testing procedure is like before releases, but perhaps users with large film and series collections should put Jellyfin through its paces before such poor releases are made.
