I greatly appreciate everything that JellyFin does for me and my set-ups and all those who pour in countless hours to make something so awesome happen which is far beyond my understanding and comprehension. I'd also like to say that it is OK to take a step back sometimes and look around and come to admit that things might not have worked out as great as your intentions nad hard work were destined to produce. Errors can occur. Issues can come up. It is frustrating, disheartneing and ages you years over simple little things. I've yet to attempt a migration for version 10.11 as I have seen to many issues discussed that scare me into staring directly into the abyss of hours and hours and hours of more frustration, trouble shooting, frustrations again and untimately the dread feelings of just wanting to give up. I have full faith in those working on things behind the scnese and believe their intentions come from the best places. But maybe a step back, for now, is the best course of action rather than full steam ahead when the tracks are already on shaky ground.

If you look at what has happened over at Trakt, and the response from those in the upper positions there, JF is far and away handling this bump in the road in a far better manner. What a total and complete cluster fcuk that thing is and no I don't care who's feeling saying so I might hurt. I do care about the JF team (even if there's some overlap) and happy we can vent here witout fear of dramatic facist censorship and ignorance.

And IMDb Top 250. Why isn't that a thing in JF yet??? (A little jest for humor).

Such tone-deaf (yes, calling it as it is) responses are tantamount to saying that if an OTA update to your car's software suddenly made your car unable to go above 5kph, then it's probably because you're putting pressure on the wrong side of the pedal and have been doing such the entirety of your car ownership.

EVERYONE reporting performance issues since the 11.x release has had _perfectly functional non-hobbled installations_ PRIOR to said version(s).

So just stop, it is _not_ a given user's installation that's an issue when literally the only change is a new version of the software (and if anyone insists adding/removing/editing content from an existing library is a systemic "change," stop grasping at straws). And you know what, even IF a user-end tweak here or there might improve something, that's not a "fix" - something's still broken.

"But it works fine for me" is not a pertinent data point, believe it or not.

but works fine for me tho

And works for me too, but only because I learned from others what they did to get it to work for them. Smiling-face

A fundamental reality of software development is that any code change can cause a new version to have problems where a previous version worked well. You can only test a tiny percentage of system configurations.

I've previously fixed bugs in software only to find that prior "workarounds" failed due to platform or system peculiarities. Frustrating? Yes, without a doubt! But we are all grown-ups and can work together to solve it (I hope). Make sure you report issues on GitHub. Or better still help fix, it is an open source project. Free.

We certainly have alternative options if we want to try out other media servers too. Some also free, like this one.

So keep posting your experiences, fixes and suggestions, good people. They help a lot. Smiling-face
