    New Music Genres?

Is there a way to make new music genres?

Whenever I try to add a new genre to an album or an artist, the genre will be listed on the album or artist, but if I click on it nothing will load, and when I go to my "genres" page under music, only the default genres are there. Is there something I'm missing? I don't understand how jellyfin is deciding what genres exist and what music belongs where. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you run a server-wide rescan after adding the new genre?

My experience, in the past, using Jellyfin for Music is that it gets it's info from the tags that exist on the files. You might have to use a tool like Mp3tag to change genres on the files themselves

No, I will see if that works.

OK, I will look into Mp3tag, I've also heard about something called beets.io that can organize and tag music. I'll see if tags solve the problem.

It looks like a simple library refresh was the answer, I feel kinda dumb for not thinking of that myself before asking for help, but I did get help! Thanks very much!
