Hi all,
With this post I like to gather information what todo to get a fast working jellyfin server.
The configuration I use is a basic computer with 32 Gbyte RAM and windows 2019 as server
On this server 3 VM machines are working from whom 2 Ubuntu 20.04 servers
Both Ubuntu servers are identical or software and using Haproxy to get secure connections and load balancing.
To test each individual server I enable or disable in the haproxy.cnf the server config
My experiences until now are positive and negative.
The positive I explain:
installing jellyfin is simple and working very quick, getting the movies or music files in the library is good working
On the windows server I have a raid5 set to host all the multimedia information, using the cifs or NFS sharing protocol let me see the files on the mount point on each ubuntu server.
Speed difference between CIFS and NFS are good visible when browsing the media in the jellyfin interface, NFS performs better.
Using CIFS all media got played without any error but when use NFS the error "nfs share this client isn't compatible with the media and the server isn't sending a compatible media format." appear
I tried many ways to solve this and didn't succeed, the NFS information found on internet does not mention a windows 2019 server which is much different then the older versions for NFS.
Could someone help me with this?
