No keyboard on TV

I am currently testing out Jellyfin as an alternative to Plex. In the TV app (Android TV on TCL device) there is no keyboard. The app points me to using a keyboard on my mobile device. Is there any way to activate an on screen keyboard on the TV set? Using a second device plus time required looking for an app to use the TV app is not very straightforward. All other apps, Plex included, open an on screen keaboard

It sounds like there might be a permission issue. Try this: go to your TV’s settings, navigate to Apps -> App Permissions, and check if Gboard has microphone access enabled. If it’s not, enable it and check if the keyboard shows up.
