No Subtitles on AppleTV Swiftfin

Hi,

Really new to jellyfin and working with media files in general here. 

When I use Firefox on my Mac to watch videos, I can turn the subtitles on and off, and they appear to be correct for the video I am watching, but not when I watch the same content on my Apple TV with Swiftfin.  I am not sure what is different on the AppleTV Swiftfin app.  If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this working, that would be great.

Sorry, I didn't realize where the line was.  I updated my post accordingly to focus on the problem at hand rather than how I got to this point.
