Hey all, I've recently started getting set up with Jellyfin and I'm really enjoying the flexibility and overall depth of customization compared to other media server solutions.

That said, I've been combing through my library and correcting some instances of improper metadata.  One of my shows, Aikatsu Friends, did not have any sort of metadata on any of the major sites, so I took it upon myself to import the episode titles and descriptions from wikipedia to TMDB, which can be found here.

I've used the "Identify" function to search the ID of the show and update the metadata that way, but it seems like it's grabbing metadata from IMDB instead of TMDB, which does not have any episode descriptions listed.  This is most certainly the case because IMDB does not list an end year of 2019 (something I have just submitted a change request for), so the show is listed as '2018-Present' when I refresh its metadata. Additionally, even if I remove the IMDB ID from the show's metadata, it reappears when I call for a metadata refresh.

Is there a way I can force Jellyfin to grab the episode description metadata from TMDB instead of IMDB, or a way I can simply disable IMDB as a metadata source?

Try installing the AniDB and/or AniSearch plugins. They definitely do better with Anime related metadata.

I've used both, but neither source seems to have episode/descriptions or titles, hence why I added them to TMDB. I've had luck with IMDB with other non-recognized titles in my library, so I might just have to update the listings there too.

Strange.  Looking through my Anime library, it is hit or miss what has episode descriptions and what doesn't.  I re-enabled other metadata sources to pull from in the library settings, I only had anidb and anisearch enabled, set the ranking for anidb and anisearch higher, and now Animes without episode descriptions have them.

It turns out that I had just never enabled the metadata sources for anything other than the default, and doing so has fixed this issue (for one of the seasons at least, but progress is progress!)

Got some other issues with another show having different episode airing order across its different releases, but that's a headache for later.
