that is the user setting "allow video playback that requires conversion without reencoding", right?

That is enabled. Just  tried disabling but same result.

thanks, i did after every operation. Tried installing Plex and it plays the file fine, no transcode.

Go ahead and report an issue on Swiftfin's git. I just noticed that there was a release 3 days ago that may explain the multiple Swiftfin related threads.
