    Still not transcoding the audio.....wtf.

Which docker image are you using?

Answered my own question. You were using the official image.

Audio might not be the issue. Ac3 5.1 in mkv plays directly in edge without issue.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. I was never able to get this working, so I'll stick with the Windows app for now. It seems to work fine, as do all my other devices.

Hi! I know this is a couple of months old, but I was experiencing the same thing and discovered that chrome nor edge supports av1 codec, at least on windows 11 in my case. If you can, disable av1 and leave hevc, or disable both. If it still fails, double check the vpp tone mapping settings. For me, just disabling av1 worked. Hope this helps.

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox should support AV1.  Especially if your GPU supports AV1 decoding.

Chromium in PopOS with a RX6800.

Beats me then. I tried on my m2 mac, worked on safary, but note edge. On my ipad it worked on any browser, but we know those are limited to the same renderer as safari there. On my pc with windows 11 ryzen 7 cpu radeon 6700xt didn’t work either. After disabling that, it started working. I disabled and re-enabled to make sure. Unless you mean on the server side, which I just have an AMD iGPU, in which case, I bet you’re 100% right, although, doesn’t explain why it worked on safari. But wanted to share my experience with this in case it may help someone else.

I would also like to put my 2 cents in.

While I am new to this forum, I have been using Jellyfin for several years without much issue. Recently, however, I too have noticed that Chrome and chromium-based browsers like Brave are no longer allowing any media playback on either the local network or remotely. Firefox has no such issues. I do not think this has anything to do with Jellyfin at all. I think it is all down to something being changed in chromium, which is then being down-streamed to all chromium-based browsers.

What I do find interesting is, on the machine that hosts my Jellyfin install, Chrome and Brave play media without issue. But this is likely because it is directly from the server.
