I'm not really sure what to make of this. A couple days ago I shutdown my server (linux/ubuntu) to do some maintenance. When I started the server back up, I went to Jellyfin and noticed that nearly 6 months of content was missing from the home screen. And if you search for it, it's not there.

I did a library scan, which took a full 24hrs, it gets to 94% in like 10 mins, then takes another 23hrs to finish that last 6%. And, then all my recent media from the last 6 months reappears. I thought all was good at this point, until I realized nothing plays. It comes back with "This media is incompatible with the player."

So, I reboot the server again and again, only files older than 6 months appear. And out of curiosity, I hit play. If I go to finamp, I can play all my music, new old, doesn't matter.

Of course, I want all my recent media back again, so I do a library scan, again 94% then slows to a crawl.

And then, yet again, all my recent media is back, only again, it doesn't play. Nothing plays, music, tv, movies.

I have no clue what is happening.

Can you share your logs? Also, is your media storage local or on a NAS? It sounds like your media is remote on a NAS or something and Jellyfin is starting up before your media storage is mounted.

Sorry, meant to include that originally.

It is a remote NAS, and there's a task on the mount to wait until a network connection is attained before attempting to mount, so while that at least covers some aspects, it may still mean that jellyfin is starting sooner than that.

Here's todays log from where I'm troubleshooting it. I did just reinstall jellyfin and it is now showing files and playing them, but it still needs a more complete library scan because it's got albums I uploaded years ago as recent and the date added is 01/01/2098.

Check the system clock. Did it de-sync or did your CMOS battery die and the system clock isn't being maintained when the system restarts?

Honestly, it seems fine now after the reinstall. Not sure what happened.
