This is a repost from Reddit

    Hi everyone!
I have been using the wonderful piece of software that is Jellyfin for about two years now. Pretty quickly, I wanted to go beyond the default interface and started looking for ways to improve its look and the overall user experience.
I was pleasantly surprised by how active the community is, and by the growing number of quality plugins, many of which are listed on Awesome Jellyfin. At that point, I had plenty of ideas in mind, but no real programming skills and, to be honest, neither the time nor the motivation to learn properly for results that felt very uncertain.
Back then, I had already tried experimenting a bit with AI assistants such as ChatGPT. I could see the potential, but the results still felt limited and unstable.
So I put aside the idea of creating my own projects and experiments. However, a few weeks ago, I decided to give it another try. This time, I was finally able to produce something interesting and usable.
So I am happy to share my first functional plugin with you: CineHover!
It is far from perfect for now, and I know that using AI without having the skills to fully verify everything it produces can be risky. But I see this project more as a way to share ideas and show what can be done, even if someone more experienced eventually takes it further or builds something better from it.
This plugin comes from a broader project to redesign the Jellyfin home page, among other things. I will only share that larger project when I am confident that it is usable as well. You can already see a small preview of it in the attached video.
The GitHub repository is available here:

Feel free to take a look and try it for yourself. I may not always have the time to respond to every comment or request, but please feel free to share your feedback and report any remaining bugs or issues.
    See you soon!
