    Hi all,
i have a problem with all the movies that have a sequel. The "2°" will get identify as the first one like for Blade Runner.
I have the name correctly written like the guide and i have only 1 folder with everything inside.
    The guides
    Movies
    ├── Film (1990).mp4
    └── Film (1994).mp4
    My folder
    Movies
    ├── Blade Runner (1982).mkv
    └── Blade Runner 2049 (2017).mkv

They are getting identify both as "Blade Runner (1982)"

    Can someone explain me why?

    EDIT.
I have change the title because i have problem with all media identification.
    Fino a prova contraria (1999).mkv
will get identify as "L'angolo rosso - Colpevole fino a prova contraria (1997)" why?....

Movies with the year in the name can throw off the file parser when it is constructing the query for metadata. I had exactly the same problem with Bladerunner and Bladerunner 2049. To reinforce this point, "Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).mkv" failed to identify for me as well.

Edit: Didn't see your edit. I'm assuming that when it searched for "Fino a prova contraria" it returned both that film and "L'angolo rosso - Colpevole fino a prova contraria". Jellyfin probably picked the first result?

How have you fixed the "years problem"?
As i understand the years should be in the "()" he should not read part of the name as years...

For the "edit part" that makes no sense... it should search for title + years not only title and pick the first one randomly.

I had to manually identify some shows and movies. Click on the "..." context menu for a misidentified show/movie and click "Identify". You can enter the TMDB ID of the correct movie and Jellyfin will pull down the metadata for it.

I understand... that's does not seems a solution unfortunately because if in a future you are gonna change library / name / something it will get recognized wrong again... i would like to have a permanent solution even for future movies..
I will ask on github if someone has some idea.
    Thanks

You can add the TMDB ID in square brackets []. You can also configure Jellyfin to save NFOs. If you move directories around in the future the NFO will preserve any identification work you previously did.

might recommend the imdb id over the tmdb since it has a chance of being more recognizable

but both of these work for me

    Blade Runner 2049 (2017).mp4
    Blade Runner - [tt1856101].mp4
