Hello everyone,
I'm running the newest release of Jellyfin Server for Windows on my old laptop and have been experiencing issues with subtitles on my Samsung TV (Tizen OS). I mostly watch anime, which often has embedded .ass or .ssa subtitles in the MKV container. They work perfectly when I'm streaming from my PC or my phone, but on my TV they appear for the first 30 seconds or so and then disappear. They are still shown in the menu but don't load/buffer for some reason. I have read that this may be caused by slow extraction on the server side, which doesn't seem to be the problem here. Even if I stop an episode at the beginning and let it sit for 20 minutes, they work for a little longer and then disappear again. However, if I close the video and reopen it, the subtitles will work for around 30 seconds again and then disappear. It doesn't seem like they reappear after disappearing unless I re-enter the video. It works fine if I burn in the subtitles, but I'd rather not since my laptop isn't very performant and I also don't want to lose quality. I have the Extract Subtitles plugin installed, but it didn't change anything.
If I access the same anime from the TV's own player, the subtitles load and play just fine, but I lose the ability to do even the simplest things like stopping and resuming the episode or fast-forwarding. The laptop has an old i7-3630QM and both the TV and laptop are connected via Ethernet.
I am unsure if this has been addressed here before.
