Program Data /var/lib/jellyfin almost full

Hi.

Since my JF server is newly reinstalled yesterday(my perspective), i  am doing trickplay and the chapter image stuff.

I see my JF Program Data /var/lib/jellyfin is really full.

I have set both custom cache and metadata folders. now it looks like im in the risk of corrupting JF installation because the LXC is near full on its rootfs disk.

What would be my best option to go forward with this? I am pretty sure i changed the paths via the gui before i started with trickplay generation.

EDIT: had to shut down the LXC with jellyfin, because the usage grew a bit more and have not left many GiB free on those folders.

AFAIK, that path is not configurable. You can try using relocating /var/lib/jellyfin and then putting a symlink in its place. I'm assuming increasing that partition's size is not an option.

Make a backup of /var/lib/jellyfin before doing anything, just in case.

My underlying storage for the lxc has another 280 GiB free.. but i feel it will just grow and grow. Im not sure what causes it to grow, other jellyfin installations i''ve had, has lasted under 16 GiB for the same size media library.

i could probably add a mount point to my raid array that has 14 TiB free and mount it into the path(s), not sure if the slower mechanical drives would affect JF functionallity

Ideally Jellyfin's database, located in /var/lib/jellyfin/data should be on a SSD. For reference, my library of 31K episodes, 1k movies, and 15k songs has a data directory size of 138GB. Trickplay is stored with the media and not with Jellyfin's server data.

Filling up 280GB would require a massive library.

O that's interesting I always thought you should be having everything on the SSD all but the media.

Eh. Personal preference. I moved it with the media because it shrunk the size of my backups by a lot (nightly backup job) and ensure that I don't have to regenerate trickplays if something catastrophic happened to my Jellyfin install and/or I couldn't revert to a backup for some reason.
