I'm curious what the feelings are for/against keeping the original ripped files after they have been uploaded to Jellyfin? For me, a lot of time and effort has gone into getting them into the correct file structure with corrected metadata.
One example of correct metadata for me is from greatest hits albums. Almost invariably those ripped songs all show the release year as the one that the greatest hits album was released, not the year the song was actually released. I tend to play my music mostly by year. I like to hear what was out and popular at the time.
My second concern is - what if I have to pull the data from Jellyfin -- it was relatively easy to drag and drop the files/structures into Jellyfin, but I don't see where much can be done in downloading back from Jellyfin.
I know having the original discs is my ultimate backup....and I know that I'm doubling my space usage by keeping both the originals and the copies loaded into Jellyfin. Am I just massively over-killing for nothing?
