We discovered Jellyfin via search engine and we are starting to read the documents on it.  We have some questions about Jellyfin. We are nonprofit organization where we offer similar to Netflix service to our members for free. It an older open source software which is outdated and no longer supported by the developers so we are hunting down to find something similar to our old software "Netflix clone" that can managed over 5,000 members.

Is Jellyfin somewhat similar to Netflix or a Netflix clone like software?  Can an existing membership from our old software be imported into it? Our videos are currently uploaded then transcoded and stored where it is playback locally from the same server and does Jellyfin support uploading and hosting video from Vimeo paid accounts?  We are waiting to move away from transcoding and storing videos on our server and use Vimeo instead then just use the Jellyfin for frontend and account database management.

Would Jellyfin be a good fit for us?

    Thank you
    Bill

Jellyfin is intended and designed for HOME use and for streaming locally stored media.  As such, it has no tools to assist with managing that many users, it is not hardened for security, cannot act as a proxy to stream videos from other sites, and does not easily scale up to that size.
