    Hey all,
I run Jellyfin on my Synology DS220+, for the last couple years. Smooth sailing, everything works smoothly, and I'm typically able to troubleshoot my own issues with success.

I've noticed recently that search is quite slow, 30 seconds to a minute before results will show. I'm wondering if it's related to the fact that recently I've begun building a music library which is becoming sizable (the timing of the slowdown and the addition of the music library lines up). Is it because my collection is becoming too large, or is the recent addition of a music library is just a co-incidence and the problem is unrelated? Or maybe it's just something to expect as the library grows.

Forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere, I wasn't able to find any search results that matched my specific issue.

Does your database reside on a HDD. If so, it is probably just a result of the massive increase in the number of entries.

Yep, it does, and that makes sense. I intend to eventually move the server off the synology device soon onto a pc with an SSD, so I guess it'll become a non-issue. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!
