    Hi

I am really struggling with setting up remote access for Jellyfin

The server works great on my LAN/WAN

I have it installed on a mac mini late 2014 running openmediavault 7 on debian 9

Have fixed the DHCP of the server to a static address

set up port forwarding on the router as per this guide  Forward Ports on Your Router for Jellyfin (portforward.com)

clicked tick box in Jellyfin UI to allow remote access

    Its not working..

I feel like I have read everything at this point. I am no expert, everything I have learnt I have learnt trying to set this up, but I keep hitting a dead end with this

I just don't know what I am missing or not doing Confused-face how do I get good at this!!?

I'm assuming you are using Docker to run Jellyfin in OMV? If so, do you know if you are using bridge or host networking?

I am not using docker, I used the repository script via command line, went through a tutorial and verified everything as working and updated to latest stable version AFAIK

Are you using a reverse proxy? If so, which one? Do you have a domain or DDNS address?

So this might be where I am stuck because I don't know what either of those are, why I would need them or how I would use them if I did Smiling-face

I did test my port forwarding with the previously linked sites testing software and it didnt recieve a response from 8920

I was doing this from my PC not the server though, so might not be relevant

If you don't know what they are then you aren't using them, which is an answer, kind of.

So you're just typing your WAN IP into your phone or laptop or whatever remote connected device?

Ok. So Finamp works remotely but not the official Android app?

If that is the case, what version of the server are you running?
