SOLVED: Android Screencast / Screen Cast to Samsung TV Tizen OS choppy images and sound

Jellyfin 2.5.2


Connecting to Samsung GU43AU7179U TV works fine, however while image and sound play fine on Android device as soon as connection to Samsung TV is established, the image is mirrored. On the TV the image then is choppy, it is delayed and gets stuck for a few seconds. The sound is similarly choppy.

Jellyfin on iOS works fine via AirPlay - both image and sound are without artifacts and play smoothly.

While there is https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-tizen is there a way to make screen cast from Android to Samsung TV work? https://smartdigihere.com/jellyfin-on-samsung-smart-tv/ mentions a few options but does not have info on screen cast.

Edit: Update: testing this with a second device running ArrowOS 13.1 and found Screen Cast works without issues on nabu device while when using lisa device getting the choppy image and audio.

Since clearly this is nothing Jellyfin has control over but rather a problem in ArrowOS and or Tizen, closing this thread as resolved. I was a bit unsure where to start digging and found it useful to ask here in the hope that others would share their experience.
